Party!

So if you're on facebook you already know this but on February 23 (it's a Friday) I'm having a party at my place (206 Sandburg Ct, Ames, Iowa 50014).  It's gonna start around 7:00 (subject to change) and go till people leave... planning on having 2 or 3 x-box 360s, DDR, Giutar Hero, Nintendo Wii, food, a sign in board (It'll have to be bigger than last years), and tons of people.  Last year we had like 40 people or so... and i didn't really invite people.  This year we expect many more... so, come one come all It's my birthday.  No presents are necessary but it would be helpful if you could RSVP and get set up for some food or drinks to bring.  So... I think that's it.  Party on Garth.

zombies are neat

The topic of the day... Zombies.  Why?  Because they are neat.  I have the book on em (The Zombie Survival Handbook), I recently watched a great movie about them (28 Days Later), and I have been one for the past month or so.  It seems that in my rush for the past month, travelling from school to work to church and home for homework, a bite (haha zombies!), and maybe some sleep (then do it again) type of scedule, just hasn't been good for my health.  I currently have a little bit of a sore throat (a big deal for me as I never get sick) and have developed a calcium deffiency.  This might seem like its only a big deal for your bones but apparently if you have a calcium deffiency then you also can't sleep right.  It has been a bad month.  I'm now about to leave for a paid supper from Siegler printing (and my break for the week).  Life in general isn't too bad but I need moneys to pay for school.  Like 800 moneys.  Oh well.  Hooray for jobs and chool right?

The intense hatred of all things living

Welcome to the month of Halloween.  I hate working at a gas station right in front of a bar.  See the month of Halloween means costume pubcrawl.  And that means everyone dress up like a cheap whore or pimp.  Seriously.  It's bad enough dealing with regular drunk girls.  Normally I'd just leave but since it's work that option doesn't really exist.  This combined with the looming threat of many papers due and lots of work to finish at my second job has left me sleeping little, drinking way too much caffiene, and stressing (and therefore hating) life in general.  That's why I hate school so much.  There's always something looming.  It sits in the back of your mind and anytime you do anything fun you remember, O yeah, I have multiple papers and other random homework to complete... poop.  Taking a job as a postal worker is sounding better and better... and by that I mean a worker who has gone postal (slang for going crazy for all of my international and out of the loop readers.)  So anyway, Monday and Tuesday I took a much needed brake and went down to Ankeny.  Monday we forked campus at FBBC.  It was fun.  We got caught.  We still won.  Yay for us.  I drank 2 and a half cans of rockstar.  I peaked and crashed when I got home.  Caffiene is a regular stimulant.  I had a hangover in the morning.  Now I'm tired and while i could tell you more about my life at work etc. I think I'm going to go to bed or something.

Friday the 13th

Yesterday (actually 2 days ago technically) was Friday the 13th.  It's sort of a superstion filled day.  Those superstions seemed to have played out for me.  I had to work and as I was walking in to Kum and Go I saw a car sitting over the curb like someone had backed it up way too far.  The whole back half of the car was partway down the little hill leading to the road.  I thought that was odd but people seemed to be taking care of it and there really wasn't anything for me to do so I went inside.  A guy had just finished getting a few items and as he turned around saw the car and took off running.  Apparently his transmission was bad and even though the car was showing park it was in gear.  He went in to pay and the car ran off.  Fortunately a truck and duck boat full of hunter camo covered guys pulled in just as he was getting there and pushed the car back into the lot.  That was odd.  The rest of my work day was just crazy.  It all revolved around one of the gas tanks going empty.  Everyone wanted to buy gas but it wasn't working.  We soon had a large number of angery custiomers.  We changed some prices and that made them happy.  Then we had a truck come in to refill the storage tank.  After that we reset everything thinking it would work.  It didn't.  Apparently there is a reset that you have to hit when a tank is emptied.  By the time htis happened the manager had already left and there were only 2 of us there.  Neither of us had a clue as to what needed to be done.  At least I got an extra 30 minutes out of the deal.  Tonight I went and saw a new band at tthe Blinx battle of the bands.  Mara, Josh Mokelstead, Ben Wedenhoeft, and a guy I don't know named Andrew put together a little thing and in 4 practices (3 with Josh) put together a band that took second place and was better than many of the semi pro college bands I've seen.  It was amazing.  I think the band was called Final Confession but I can't remember.  More on that later.
